SWAIN COUNTY, N.C. — Two suspects are in custody following a multi-county manhunt, the Swain County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Luis Alfredo Reynosa, 23, wanted for a Thursday shooting near Hyatt Creek and Walker Woody Road, faces charges including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling or vehicle. Kristen Danielle Ramsey, 29, was charged as an accessory after the fact.
Reynosa’s vehicle, a white Chevrolet Camaro (NC plate KJD6729), was later found in Jackson County. Deputies searched two homes there without initially locating him.
Law enforcement activity prompted Swain East Elementary School to hold classes remotely.
By Friday afternoon, both suspects were taken into custody at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. As of Saturday, Reynosa is being held without bond, and Ramsey has a $50,000 secure bond at the Swain County Detention Center.
